A Little Background

So, this is our life. President and I live in Bangkok, Thailand with our beautiful daughter, Amber, and 150 of the greatest missionaries in the world! Can life get any better than this?!!

Our daughter, Lindsay and her sweet husband, Brian live in North Carolina where he has just finished medical school at Duke. He will stay on there for the Intern-Residency thing and then.....who knows! They love it there....maybe too much! By that, I mean that they may decide that it is their permanent home. Not that I don't think it is a lovely place, but it is a long way from Midway, Utah. Lindsay is a wonderful singer/song writer & a beautiful person. She spends most of her time chasing 2 amazing kids. McKenzie and Carson....the best grandkids in the world!

Michelle lives in Logan, Utah. She just graduated in Theater Education, Psychology and Music from Utah State and is spending her summer performing at Pickleville Summer Theater....Hey, if you get up there, take some pictures for us....'cause we REALLY wish we could see the shows, but know that she is making us proud....she always does! In the summer of '05 she had the opportunity to share her great talent serving as a Young Performing Missionary in Nauvoo. It was wonderful to watch her perform and see her share her testimony of Joseph Smith. With luck, we will see her here in a few months...elephant rides anyone?

Brian is serving his mission in Munich Germany/Austria, finishing in December '08. This is actually his second mission....in the summer of '06 he served as a Young Performing Missionary in Nauvoo. It was great to see him share his talent for the Lord. He has had some real adventures during his service and will have great stories to tell! We are proud of him and in his willingness to dedicate his life to the work. I really believe that I am a calmer mission mom because I see these great missionaries in Thailand. They are protected. Absolutely. The Lord is watching over every step they take and supporting every righteous decision they make. Because I see that here, I know that my own Elder Dodge is protected as well. The Lord is in the work!

Our youngest child, Amber is with us on this 3 year adventure. She has really been a blessing to have along, she helps us remember what is really important. Family is everything. She is attending the International School of Bangkok and keeps super busy in the Drama Department. As soon an one production is over, another one starts, and she is part of every production. She really shines on stage and gets much joy in sharing her talent with others....in other words, it is hard to keep her out of the spot light! She will graduate just a couple of weeks before we finish our mission, summer '09. (CLASS OF 2552) It is a blessing to have her with us, she is a funny, strong and talented girl.....without her here, we would be pretty lonely!
